Why do you need the right electrician?

Because they’re legal

You need to know that the people working on your wiring are fully trained and qualified to do so – and entitled to do so as ‘Competent Persons’ under the Building Regulations Part P. Because if they aren’t, you could be faced with an additional bill for getting the work checked, and putting
it right if there’s a problem with it.

NICEIC members (like Barton Electrical) have been assessed against the national electrical safety standard (BS 7671) and the IEE Wiring Regulations – which means that they know what they’re doing.

Training and equipping staff properly, and doing all the law requires, doesn’t come cheap. But then how expensive is an electrical fire?

' I had struggled for over 2 years with that shower, if run for more than 3 mins 30 seconds, would blow the rinf main. I had previously had 3 Ipswich electrical contractors to try and uncover the problem. I had to suffer attempts to sell me a new fusebox, my lounge walls being pierced and hours of wasted time. Graham Barton spent 3 hours testing every electrical point and eliminating those that were sound. Eventually, he traced the fault to an area under the shower tray which lies over the kitchen. He made a temporary adjustment which meant we could take a shower without a stop watch. He was the only electrician prepared to listen to my theory that water was escaping from the shower onto a electric cable, somewhere. He then prepared a highly detailed report of his findings and these were used by the original contractor to trace the installation fault. It transpired that water was escaping down the bathroom wall inside the shower cabinet through a faulty sealant which was not obvious. Without Graham Barton's prefessionalism and dedication I believe I would still be 'express showering'. Taken from Best of Ipswich March 2008

' May I take this opportunity to thank you for your assistance on Saturdau 14th July. When I discovered there had been a power failure at our premises and was unable to contact our usual maintenance company. I was quite distraught as the failure had affected the phone system which needed to be working as we are a doctors surgery. Other sockets and appliances had also been affected but ultimately my prime concerns were the phones. These could not be left over the weekend. Not knowing which electrician to contact, (there are so many) I looked in the local Thompson Directory and was drawn to your advert for Barton Electrical. Explaining the problem you very kindly said I'll be there in half an hour. What a relief!

You were very professional in the was you were able to trace the fault especially as you had never been in the surgery before. I am grateful you have a very good stock of parts on your van as you were able to repair the fault and have us back to full working order within a very short time. I know if I should be in a similar situation again I would not hesitate to phone you, and I shall certainly keep your card handy to pass on to anyone who needs an electrician.'
