Rointe Electrical Heating
While the majority of homes in the UK are kept warm by gas central heating, a vast number still rely on electric heaters instead, but what are the pros and cons and how can a Rointe electric heating system make your home more energy efficient?
Why choose an electric heating system?
Electric heating systems have a reputation for being expensive to run and in some cases – for example, with storage heaters – difficult to regulate. But (as with most things) there’s another side and there are numerous benefits to installing electric heating, such as:
- Typically, cheaper and less disruptive to install than gas central heating which requires pipes and a flue.
- Easier and less expensive to maintain as there are usually fewer parts and mechanisms.
- Unlike gas, electricity is available almost everywhere including very rural locations.
What types of electric heaters are there?
Storage heaters are the most common form of electric heating and have come a long way since the 1960s when they were first introduced into homes. They essentially draw energy during the night when electricity is at its cheapest, store the heat and distribute it during the day. Storage heaters are ideal if you pay a lower night-time tariff like Economy 7 or Economy 10.
When they first launched, storage heaters were pretty basic and there was little you could do to control the amount of heat you got, or when. Now, thanks to technology and new regulations, storage heaters must be as energy efficient as possible and many come with temperature controls and fans to distribute the heat.
Of course, storage heating isn’t the only option and you can also buy electric radiators which you use in much the same way as a gas operated system. But, depending on your daytime tariff, this can be an expensive option.
Rointe electrical heating systems
Rointe electrical systems cover a wide range of products. From radiators, towel rails, water heaters and underfloor heating, there’s an electric solution for most homes and needs.
Rointe’s ranges are designed for modern living and include a number of products that can be controlled via a remote control, app or through virtual assistants like Amazon’s Alexa. While all this can seem a bit bewildering, don’t underestimate just how effective managing and monitoring your heating from your phone, tablet or voice control, can be.
The firm’s connect app also means you can set a cap on what you want to spend so you never go over budget. Coupled with that, you’ll also be able to see how much energy you’re consuming at any given moment.
